Rollé Ltd. was founded in Long Beach Island, New Jersey in 1986 by successful entrepreneur and executive manager Reno R. Rollé and his partner Lynn Rollé. The company pioneered the very concept of an innovative, patented beach blanket nearly two decades ago. Before then, there where only traditional beach blankets and beach towels. The business quickly achieved success in the manufacture and sale of its flagship product, the Rollé Beach Blanket. Since then Rollé Ltd. has outfitted everyone from beach patrol organizations to major retailers, Hollywood celebrities and Fortune 500 companies. The blanket was honored with a utility patent in 1988.

The turning point for the company occurred in 1988 at Atlantic City's Trump Plaza. Following a Miami Sound Machine concert, the Rollés met Gloria and Emilio Estefan backstage, where they presented a blanket to Gloria as a gift. Shortly thereafter, Emilio contacted the Rollés to express how much Gloria loved her blanket and asked for more to be customized with the Miami Sound Machine logo. They were to be Christmas gifts from the band to industry contacts, friends and family.

At the time, Rollé Beach Blankets were marketed exclusively to surf and specialty retail shops using a traditional wholesale/retail sales model. Emilio inspired the company to focus on the premium incentive arena, which turned the business in a whole new and even more profitable direction. Soon Rollé Ltd. was providing customized blankets for high-end resorts and major corporations the world over.

Numerous imitations have come and gone over the years. Knock-off and copycat Blankets have ranged from cheap imports to ridiculously expensive designer ensembles consisting of little more than colorful towels in tote bags. Some tried to incorporate a few of the Rollé blanket's many patented features, but not one has ever come close to offering them all. As we've always said, "Anything else is just a towel!"

Today Lynn Rollé continues to own and operate Rollé Ltd. from its Ventura, California corporate headquarters. Rollé Ltd. has always been an innovator, not an imitator, and that tradition drives the company to continue building the finest product of its type in the world.
